If you are working online, I am sure you might be aware of Google+, the social networking website of Google. If you do not have a Google+ account it is the high time to make it. Move over Google+ is the best idea to expand worldwide. It is a platform where Google is investing heavily to give tough competition to the other social networking platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

If you use social networking sites, you might know that Facebook has recently refurbished its platform with a new timeline and twitter also made some modern changes in its pages. So how can Google+ lack behind. This time, Google+ came forward and rolled out a sleek and responsive design to stunned everyone who loves other social networking sites.

Features Of Google+ New Look

Profile Page

It has more or less become like my FB timeline where I can add a cover photo, profile photo and detailed introduction about me like my occupation, education, employment, location etc.

Easy access to apps

The first feature I noticed in the new and modified G+ was the ribbon on the left corner. It is the best change I liked in Google plus new look – the ribbon featuring all the apps on the left corner of the page instead of the static icons at the top. I can even change the order of the apps featured in the ribbon by dragging them up or down. I can now go to any of my favorite Google plus service directly from this ribbon. I have set all my favorite plus services on the top of the ribbon and the one which I never or rarely use went down to the bottom.

I am a games freak and love to play games on G+ so I have kept it at top. With just a click I can see all the featured games on my G+ page.

With just a little hover of my mouse over the app and it is giving me a quick set of action related to that particular app. For example when I hover my mouse over the ‘Photos’ app I am getting the quick buttons to add the photos from my online album or from my phone. I am just loving it. I now feel that the Google Plus profile page is truly my own, I can now make it look the way I like.

Easy Navigation

The easy to use navigation bar and customizable apps are giving me a better flexibility with my profile page and the pictures shared there. The explore page beside my profile pictures is giving me all the news about the interesting and trending apps in Google plus.

Photo Sharing

I can now add bigger photos with my shared paged on G+. The blog pages I am sharing on Google plus are now looking so attractive that I am sure I will get more and more likes and shares now. Even I am feeling like sharing my page again and again through G+.

Video Hangouts

I also like the feature chat list on right corner and the video hangouts, believe me or not I have already added my friends in that list and had a great hangout with them. I can add up to ten people in a hangout, Google selected only ten as if they that more may be a throng. I can even join any of the running hangouts there, of course if they are less than 10 people.

Photo Editing

This is something which I actually need in my G+ page. The photo uploading app is connected with Picnik which is great photo editing software. However it cannot replace Adobe Photoshop but it is worth use. I can now crop, rotate, resize, add colors, or sharpen my picture before uploading it on my page. It almost works as my Facebook timeline as I can tag people, add comment on photo or even I can add the image details with every picture.

Activity drawer

I can’t actually see any big difference between the old display of +1s/reshares and new activity drawer. Both are somewhat similar, anyways it looks a bit better and goes well with the new interface. Google however says that this activity drawer makes it easier for a user to join any discussion.

Slider

Google + has also added a new slider with each of my circle. I can now adjust it and see as much as I want to see from any particular circle. For example I have 480 people in my friends circle I can adjust the slider to see fewer things from that circle, most of the things, everything or nothing from that circle.

Some other standard features include the suggestions of new friends I might know and the subscriptions I might like. This new look and new feel of Google+ is not yet extended for the smartphones and tablets but I guess it will be done soon enough.

Video hangout is almost video conferencing. Business people will not have to buy costly video conferencing solutions if they understand this and use.
